Jeffrey Anholm Cole

Jeffrey Cole Jeffrey Anholm Cole, 71, born in May 1944 lost his valiant battle with Myasthenia Gravis on March 16, 2016. Jeff was born in San Luis Obispo, attended local schools and graduated from San Luis Obispo High School with the class of 1962. He attended San Jose State where he studied business and met the love of his life Carla. He was affiliated with Sigma Chi fraternity while at San Jose State. Carla and Jeff married in 1966 and Jeff immediately left to join the Army Reserves for six months. Jeff then joined his father, Stanley, in the family business, Stanley Motors. In 1974 he and Carla purchased Callahan Dodge and later combined the two car franchises. Jeff and his sons moved the dealership from downtown to 3550 Broad Street in 2004, where the dealership is known today as Cole Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Mazda. Jeff and his son, David ran the dealership together until 2010 and David continues the legacy today. Jeff served on many advisory boards with Chrysler, including the Dealer National Council. He was active with Kiwanis de Tolosa, Mission Parish, and was a longtime member of the San Luis Obispo Country Club. He also loved running the Jeff Carla Cole Foundation, through which they support child literacy through book donations to local schools, donate to orphanages, and sponsor many children with special needs abroad. Jeff and Carla loved traveling throughout the world, and their favorite spot was Punta Mita, Mexico. They realized after all their amazing adventures that their favorite place to be was their home in San Luis Obispo. His greatest accomplishment was the amazing relationship he had with his best friend and wife of 49 years. Jeff and Carla were inseparable and Carla stayed by his side in his near five month stay in numerous hospitals in the Los Angeles area. Jeff was a true example of what a Husband, Friend, Father, and Grandfather should be. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carla, sons John (Darsie) and David (Kelli) and grandchildren: Lynnde, Clayton, Cambell, Caleb, Katie and Thomas. What Jeff loved most was his family and the time that they spent together. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Elly Cole and his sister Susan Fredericks. Services will be held at Old Mission Church on March 21st at 2:00pm with a reception immediately following at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
