Beverly Marie Simons She was born Beverly Marie Machado in December 1942 to Manuel Brown Machado and Josephine Marian Brebes Machado. One of 11 of the local San Luis Machado children born to Manuel and Josephine, the Machado Angels came to take their sister home on April 14, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. The representation of a true American beauty, Beverly embraced her Portuguese roots and culture through her love of family, passion, kindness, a strong work ethic, loyalty, generosity and devotion. Humble and proud, she epitomized what a woman should aspire to and leaves behind a legacy of love and affection that will be forever passed down through her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the Machado generations to come Those of you that knew her, know that Beverly was a deeply rooted San Luis local born and raised, and the personification all things San Luis. She attended San Luis schools, belonged to a ranching family still known today, knew everyone in town and never forgot or took for granted her friends and colleagues. She took pleasure in life's simple treasures whether it be a weekend at the lake with her family, gathering cattle, roping's and brandings, watching her grandkids show their animals and play sports, working in her yard, reminiscing about the old days growing up in San Luis or watching a heifer calve. Beverly never took a moment for granted and always spoke of the love and importance of her extensive family, and limitless friends. A dedicated mother, loving grandmother, loyal sister, daughter, Auntie, cousin and friend, Bev will always be on our minds, forever in our hearts and live on in the vast lives she touched Beverly is survived by her loving son Clint (Carrie) Simons and children: Frankie (Simons) Umbertis, Benny (Sandi) Simons, Torri Simons, and Toby (Tarrie) Howland; grandchildren: Clay Simons, Lauryn Simons, Chase Howland, Clint Howland, Maci Umbertis, Georgia Umbertis, Nikki Simons, Tanner Simons, Lindsey Pace, and Brendan Avila; sisters, Loretta (Curt) Reade, LaVina Holder, Margie Lessi and so many nieces and nephews there's no room to fit them. You know who you are and you know how much she loved you! While we all wait to see you again one day, rest in the comfort of those before you and know that those left behind will love you forever! Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday April 21st at the Catholic Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the San Luis Elks lodge from 12 to 5:00pm.
