Virginia Yasumoto
February 19, 2022
Virginia Yasumoto, 86, of San Luis Obispo, California, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday February 19th, 2022. Born in Mountain Grove, Missouri, Virginia moved to California at the age of six with her family. She was one of seven children to Cleo and Otis Conley and raised in Sanger in Fresno County. In the early ‘60s, she moved to San Luis Obispo with her husband where they raised their three sons. A social individual and one to share her opinion, Virginia was a friendly and welcoming personality in the vibrant downtown retail community for over 30 years employed as an associate at Sinsheimer Brothers, Riley's Department Store, and finishing her career managing the Pendleton shop on Higuera Street. She enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family, as well as simply sipping a glass of wine and sharing laughs among friends at home. Virginia is survived by her husband Harry; children Rodney, Ned (Marissa) and Hugh (Jessica); and granddaughters Sophie, Ellery, Remy and Elaine; and siblings Juanita Wallace, Bonnie Miller and E.D. Conley. In a gesture of remembrance, Virginia shared with her family the following line from a poem written by Victorian poet Christina Rossetti – “remember the love we once shared, miss me a little, but let me go.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Coast Health Home & Hospice
