Rosamund L Gianolini

November 27, 1929 - December 16, 2020

Rosamund “Rose” Koester Gianolini, 91, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2020, in Paso Robles. Rose was born and raised in Monterey County and lived for many years in Greenfield and King City before moving to Paso Robles in her retirement. She made many dear and lifelong friends of colleagues during her career with Wells Fargo, where she began as a bank clerk and retired as Assistant Vice President for Operations. She enjoyed traveling near and far, including visiting her mother’s birthplace in Luxembourg and her husband’s family in Switzerland, and making many trips closer to home with friends in the Silver Kings and Queens. Some of her happiest times were spent visiting with friends and family, gardening, listening to Tony Bennett, and spoiling her four-legged friends. She will always be remembered for her caring spirit, her beautiful roses, and her delicious chocolate pies. Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Edward Gianolini, and her brother William Koester, Jr. of King City. She is survived by her daughters Trish Bell of Paso Robles and Kate Gianolini (Sönke Mastrup) of Sacramento, her dearest cousin Helen Collins of King City, and her adored dog Heidi. She was also “Aunt Sis” to numerous surviving nieces and nephews and “Nana Rose” to her two great-granddaughters. The family would like to thank the staff of A Heavenly Home in Paso Robles for the loving care they gave her in her final year, as well as the staff of Central Coast Hospice. A private burial will be held at the Old Mission Cemetery in San Luis Obispo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research (www.alzinfo.org) or Pets for the Elderly (www.petsfortheelderly.org).
