Michael Anthony Ramirez

Michael Anthony Ramirez (Mike), 63, passed away peacefully on November 21st,2023 at his Atascadero home. He was born on October 11th,1960 in Santa Barbara, CA. He is survived by wife Pamalee Ramirez, 5 children, son Michel Ramirez Jr., daughter Amy Trejo and spouse Manuel, Daughter Elisa Palmer and spouse Daniel, son Samuel Ramirez and spouse Neeley, son Raymond Ramirez and spouse Clare. Also, by their grandchildren, Sonia and spouse Tommy, Selena, Scarlett, Sequoia, Manuel, Samuel, Michael, Steele, Issac, Lydia, Koda, Sawyer, Reece, John and a new baby Ramirez on the way, great-grandchildren, Raymond, Roman, Mabel and Karlie. Also, by many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many others who will always be family. He was predeceased by his Mother Elizabeth Ramirez and Father Jesus Ramirez. Michael was a seventh generation Santa Barbara native. He attended Santa Barbara High and enjoyed studying horticulture. Michael worked a few jobs when he was young, one at a carwash and the other at a tree service. In 1979 Michael and Pam were married and had their first child. That same year Michael got a truck, a chainsaw and started his own tree business. They went through a few names in the beginning but eventually settled on Evergreen Tree Service. Mike and Pam worked hard, they owned and operated Evergreen Tree Service for almost their entire adult life. For the last 44 years they have shared their love of trees with many. Several family members and friends have and will follow in his footsteps to carry-on his Legacy. In 1988 the Ramirez family, now with all 5 children, moved to Atascadero. Together he and Pam built a beautiful family. Mike was a fantastic father who always made time, shared laughs, and had fun with his kids. He raised them all with love and even in times of despair he brought them up to know they always had each other. Michael had the biggest heart; he was a father you could always count on. No matter what you were going through he could put a smile on your face and probably left you with stronger abs after making you roll around with laughter. Spending time with friends and family meant everything to Michael. He loved adventure, once the weekend hit, he was ready to roll. I can picture him now saying who’s going with me, we are heading south. Whether it was to the Swap meet Saturday morning followed by frog and jump at the mall or the Drive-In Saturday night, you knew you would have a good time in his company. He was a hilarious comedian; laughter was his best medicine. Michael had a way of connecting with everyone, continually making life a little brighter for all. He treasured the time he shared with his family and as it grew his heart only grew bigger. Michael was thankful for all who came into his life, an amazing family with open hearts who matched his kindness and love. Micheal had a passion for oldies music, classic cars, fishing, and backyard BBQ’s. He loved the ocean, sea life, tide poles, and hanging in Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, or Santa Barbara. Building aquariums and terrariums was always a fun hobby to share with the kids. He took great pleasure in creating his yard, with a landscape of tropical plants, cacti, succulents, ponds with Coy fish, rock rivers and more. He most adored spending time with Pam. It didn’t matter if they were working together dragging brush and cutting with chainsaws, having a laugh comedy show, grooving at a War concert, out for dinner, or kicking back in bed watching Law and Order. He was happy and loved. We should all take a page out of Michaels book. Live life with a little finesse, stay positive, look for the best in every situation. Finally Get up and go. Don’t forget to stop in Pismo for chowder with crab topping at Splash Cafe and we will be seeing you at the Sunset Drive-In, 10 feet shy of the snack shack. The family will hold a memorial service at Kawanis Club Hall in Atascadero on 12/01/2023 at 3:00pm. The funeral service will be held at The Mission Cemetery in San Luis Obispo on 12/02/2023 at 1:30pm.
