Deidre Ann Collier Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Deidre Ann Collier, 87, of San Luis Obispo passed away July 7, 2022 with her family by her side. A visitation and rosary will be held Thursday, July 14 at Reis Chapel. Visitation from 4-6 pm, Rosary at 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 15 at 10:30 am at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Burial to follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Dede was born March 5,1935 in Larned, Kansas to George and Rotha Pryor. She was the oldest of four children, followed by G.W. (Dub), Brenda and Vickie Pryor. She graduated from Emporia State College and then taught elementary school while in Kansas. She married Kenneth L. (Jack) Collier in 1957 and they had five children. The family moved to California in 1972. Once in California Dede worked many years for Martin Polin, Esq. and then retired from People's Self Help Housing after a long and rewarding career. She was an active member of the Catholic Church. Her hobbies and interests included home improvement projects, gardening, quilting and playing cards. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her large family Dede is survived by her flve children and their spouses; Tammy Boyle, Pam (Nick) Strejan, Jaci (Tony) Lewelling, Michelle Clemmensen, and Bill (Leigh) Collier; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents and siblings. Dede was a warm and loving person. As the oldest of her siblings she was looked at as the matriarch of the family, with everyone looking to her for advice and comfort. She was funny, caring and adored by all who knew her.
