Dr. Patrick William Faverty

In Loving Memory of Dr. Patrick Faverty January 20, 1949 – May 10, 2025 With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Patrick Faverty, 76, of San Simeon, who peacefully left this world on May 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife, Cynthia Faverty. Patrick was born on January 20, 1949, in Indiana, to Marion and Margaret Faverty. A lifelong learner and passionate educator, Patrick earned multiple degrees in English, Communication, Secondary Education, Public Speaking, and Spanish from Utah State University. He went on to receive a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and later, a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a distinguished career in education, where he inspired and mentored thousands. Patrick was instrumental in revitalizing several educational institutions and concluded his professional journey as a respected leader with the San Simeon Community Services District. His vision, integrity, and leadership left an enduring legacy in every community he touched. Outside of his professional life, Patrick found joy in the world of viticulture and treasured sharing wine and conversation with close friends and loved ones. Patrick was one of five siblings and deeply valued his family. He is survived by his beloved sisters, Alice (and Mike) Linhart and Ellen (and Mike) Williamson, who continue to carry forward his legacy of warmth and unity. He was preceded in death by his dear brothers, Fred and Brian Faverty, whom he missed dearly. He is also survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia, and his children: Scott and Erin Faverty, Andra and Gary Briant, and Shae and Jeremey Lerner, along with his grandchildren: Emerald, Berenger, Dean, Gavin, Crosby, Corbin, and Arlo. His extended family includes Jeremy Wedge, Mike and Chia Wedge, Jim Wedge, Curtis and Marissa Wedge, and their children—Garrett, Quinlynn, Kai and Shannah, Rylee, Kylie, Cecily, Sunny, and Sam—as well as three great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by Patrick's generous spirit and steady presence. Though he may no longer walk among us, Patrick's laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will continue to echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
