Mary Carol Guyette

Our loving mother, Mary Schulte Guyette, left the earth peacefully with family by her side on June 5th at the age of 80. Even though she had a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, with the support of her family and amazing caregivers, she was able to live her remaining years in her home and gifted us with ever-expanding grace, love and joy. Born the daughter of John and Bertha Schulte in Wichita Kansas, Mary was the youngest daughter of 11 children. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Guyette and siblings, Jerome, Geraldine, Charlene, Jeanette, Darrel, Leroy, Richard and Kenneth. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Jane Guyette(Paul Ho-Sing-Loy), Julie Guyette-Ferrucci(Ted Ferrucci), and Joe’l Guyette Mueller(Gus Mueller); her grandchildren, Danielle and Sam McCarthy, Ryan Smith, Elizabeth Ferrucci, Nathan Mueller and Emma Mueller; and siblings, Patrick and Gary Schulte. Mary graduated from Fresno High School and later received a certificate degree in bookkeeping. Mary and Joseph wed 11/25/1964 in Fresno, then moved to Los Banos where they resided for 16 years and raised their daughters. In 1985, Mary and Joe relocated to San Luis Obispo, where they continued the remainder of their lives together. Throughout Mary’s career, with her combined expertise in computers and bookkeeping, coupled with her dedicated work ethic and commitment, she was a valued employee spanning over 30 years with Gottschalk’s, JCPenney and the Madonna Inn. Mary was devoted to her family, especially the children, and her Roman Catholic Faith. She had a strong will, dedicated work ethic and a wonderful sense of humor.
