Ida Julia Macebo Moon September 2, 1924-February 19, 2023 Ida Moon, loving wife, mother, sister. grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, passed peacefully on Sunday February 19, 2023, while at home with her daughters, Chris and Kathy. Ida was 98 years young. Ida was born on September 2, 1924, in Salinas, CA, the 4th of 7 daughters to Manuel and Maria Macebo, first generation immigrants of the island of Faial, Azores. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 48 years, Earl Moon; her two sons Earl Jr. (AKA Joe) and George; her granddaughter, Cher Taylor, and her sisters, Mary, Georgina, Lorraine, Eva, Angie, and Delores. She is survived by her loving daughters, Chris and Kathy Moon ( David Cook); daughter in law Jan (Earl Jr.); grandchildren, Jill, David, Westin, Skyler, and Erik; 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grand daughter; and several nieces and nephews. In her early years she was a dedicated homemaker for her husband and four children; as the children moved on, Ida worked for Haberles Dress Shop in Morro Bay. During this stage in life she discovered her love for fashion. Ida enjoyed spending time with her sisters and family, and spent several years enjoying traveling all over the world-cruising was her favorite past time. She enjoyed watching all types of sports-going to countless youth and school sporting events for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren over the years. Ida was also part of a bowling league for over 40 years. She was actively bowling on a weekly basis until age 94, when the bowling alley was closed due to Covid. She loved life and enjoyed every minute of it spent with family and friends. A celebration of Life will be held Thursday March 23, 2023, at the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge, as 12 Noon.
