Glenda (Jackson) Luker On Saturday evening April 10, 2021 Glenda Luker departed this life, freed from the cruel grip of dementia. A very special lady is greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Born in Kansas, Glenda grew up in New Mexico and Colorado, making many lifelong friends. After high school she lived in Colorado, Connecticut and then California where she settled in the Newport Beach area. There she worked many years in the corporate realm, eventually retiring from the trade show exhibit business. Upon retirement, Glenda and her husband Stanley moved to Santa Maria. Both enjoyed playing golf at the Santa Maria Country Club and they made many friends in the area. After Stan’s passing, Glenda remained in Santa Maria up until the last few years when she then moved to San Luis Obispo. An invitation to Stan and Glenda’s was sure to be a good time. No matter the event, Glenda created the perfect ambiance with lovely décor, great food and drink and her vivacious personality. Together as a team they hosted many memorable gatherings. Beautiful inside and out, Glenda was a loving wife, good friend and kind, caring person. Glenda was fun and made others feel special. A successful, modern, professional woman who was smart, witty, and very organized, she was always polished and very stylish, with a radiant smile and great laugh. Glenda traveled throughout the world, at first for business then continuing to explore places near and far after retirement. She loved to plan the next adventure and filled her calendar with outings and events. “Gathering of the Goddesses” trips with close friends were especially enjoyable. A few years ago, as travel became more challenging, Glenda booked herself an airline trip to visit her cousin. Knowing it would be the last time doing something she loved she splurged and flew First Class. What great style! Predeceased by her husband Stanley, Glenda is survived by her dear Cousin Patricia and Husband Mal Arenburg, Brother Patrick Mark Boyd, Step “kids” Kim, Lauren and Greg Luker to whom Glenda was an awesome “Other Mother” and Stepson-in-laws Scot Morrison and Randy Rea. Many great friends and loved ones too. The family would like to thank the caring staff and management at Vista Rosa Assisted Living, and Central Coast Home Health & Hospice.
