Dorothy Treanor

Dorothy Treanor passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 98. Born November 22, 1919 to Agnes and Peter Meyers of Avila Beach, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of San Luis Obispo County. She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1937. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Jesse Treanor. She is survived by her daughter, Caroline Punches, son and daughter-in-law Robert (“Bob”) and Karen Treanor as well as son Dean Treanor and his fiancé, Shannon Mullan, four granddaughters and 2 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, 6 great grandsons, one great-great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy Treanor was very proud of her family and could be seen supporting them at their baseball, basketball and other sporting or community activities. An enthusiastic fisherwoman, Dorothy could spend hours with friends fishing off the Avila Pier or Laguna Lake. Dorothy Treanor spent 22 years as a Cafeteria Supervisor at the San Luis Obispo High School Cafeteria. She loved giving parties and entertaining friends and family members. Well known for her holiday cookies and candy, Dorothy was especially known for her sourdough waffles – which have become a family tradition. An avid volunteer, Dorothy encouraged her friends to join her as a volunteer in the Hospital Gift Shop, or at the Heart Association, or San Luis Historical Society. She was an active member of the Johnson Avenue Church of Christ and the Native Daughters of the Golden West among others. The family is very grateful for all the love, support and comfort provided throughout the years to Dorothy by her friends and extended family members. Services will be held on Thursday, January 25th at 11:00AM at Reis Family Mortuary, followed by graveside services at Los Osos Memorial Park.
