Delores Norma Reynolds

Delores Norma Reynolds May 2, 1940 - September 28, 2022 San Luis Obispo, California. Delores Norma Reynolds, our loving wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and Va, went home to be with the Lord September 28, 2022. She was 82. She was born Delores Norma Macebo, on May 2, 1940, the youngest of 7 daughters to Manuel and Maria Macebo, first generation immigrants of the island of Faial, Azores. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters; Mary, Eva, Georgina, Lorraine, and Angie. She is survived by her loving husband, of 62 years, William (Bill) Reynolds, her three sons and their wives; Chuck Reynolds (Paterese), Jim Reynolds (Colleen), Michael Reynolds (Jeanine), 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, sister; Ida Moon, brother-in-law; Gary Miller, and several nieces and nephews. Dee and Bill spent several years together enjoying traveling all over the world to several European countries, Asia, and South America. Her favorite was traveling to her family’s native country, visiting family and exploring the islands. She was proud of her heritage, spending time with her relatives and carrying out the traditions of her family, passing them to her children. She loved spending time with her sisters and hosting family holidays where she and her sisters loved preparing Portuguese family dishes they were raised on. She enjoyed several celebrations together with her extended Portuguese family at Edna Hall and was a member of the Edna Hall Portuguese FDES. She and Bill were owners of family-owned and operated San Luis Cyclery on Monterey Street, in business for over 60 years, where she was an integral part of the business working beside Bill while raising their family. She loved life and enjoyed every minute of it spent with her family and friends. She also loved getting together for potlucks on Wednesday’s at the shooting club with her girls. She rarely met anyone that didn’t become a treasured friend and the feeling was always mutual. We loved our conversations and spending time with her. If she wasn’t baking her loaves of Sweet Bread to send home with visitors, she was making gifts for friends and family until her fingers grew tired. We all treasured her and the love she poured into everything she did. An avid cook, gardener and crocheter, she will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held November 4, 2022 at the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge, at 12:00 Noon.
